Mother Nature delivered an early holiday gift to skiers and snowboarders: another major storm that brought more than a foot of snow to Vail (12 inches) and Beaver Creek (14 inches) overnight. This storm follows on the heels of a series of early-season snowstorms that have racked up nearly four feet of snow since Dec. 1, allowing Vail to open more than 4,000 acres including Blue Sky Basin and China Bowl just in time for this weekend.

Vail, CO: Open November 21

Vail Mountain is scheduled to open for its 46th season on Friday, Nov. 21 at 9 a.m. The resort will offer skiing and snowboarding on the Born Free trail, accessible by the Born Free Express Lift (Chair 8) in Vail Square/ Lionshead. The Eagle Bahn Gondola will offer access to beginner terrain in the Little Eagle Lift (Chair 15) area as well as Eagle’s Nest for on-mountain dining at The Marketplace restaurant. Lift tickets on opening day are $65 for adults, $55 for seniors and $45 for children 12 and under.
